Maintenance emergency?
For a gas smell, a fire, or any medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Do not email us first — emergency services come first, every time.
For urgent property problems — no heat in cold weather, no water, an active leak, a sewage backup or a total electrical failure — email info@oconnellcornerstone.com with EMERGENCY in the subject line. That inbox is monitored outside office hours and those messages are answered ahead of everything else.

Tenant FAQs
Rent is paid online through the tenant portal by bank transfer or card. It is due on the 1st. Set up autopay once and you will not have to think about it again.
Government-issued photo ID, proof of income covering roughly three times the monthly rent, and contact information for your two most recent landlords. Every adult 18 or older who will live in the unit must submit their own application.
No heat in cold weather, no water, an active water leak, a sewage backup, a gas smell, a total electrical failure, a fire, or anything that makes the unit unsafe. For a gas smell, a fire or any medical emergency, call 911 first — always. For urgent property problems, email us with EMERGENCY in the subject line and it is answered ahead of everything else.
Emergencies are addressed immediately, around the clock. Everything else is acknowledged within one business day and scheduled based on urgency. You will be notified before anyone enters your home, and you can track the request in the portal.
Yes. We require an active renters policy with liability coverage for the length of your lease. It is inexpensive, and your landlord’s policy does not cover your belongings.
Connecticut law requires your deposit, plus the interest it has earned, to be returned within 21 days of your tenancy ending — or 15 days after you give us a forwarding address in writing, whichever is later. If anything is deducted you get an itemized written statement showing exactly what and why. We would rather send it back early than be late.
It depends on the property. Pet policies are set per unit and listed on each individual listing. Where pets are allowed there is typically a pet deposit or monthly pet rent. Assistance animals are handled separately under Fair Housing law and are not treated as pets.
Send written notice through the portal or by email at least the number of days your lease requires — usually 30 or 60. We will send you a move-out packet explaining exactly what condition the unit needs to be in to get your full deposit back.
Equal Housing Opportunity
